The firm specializes in land use policy advice, land acquisition and application assistance and the preparation of special studies calling for professional planning expertise, to both private sector and public sector clients, as well as private individuals and residents groups.  The company operates from its office in Thornhill, concentrating in Southern Ontario, within 150 miles of the Greater Toronto Area.  The firm also specializes in providing aerial and site photography services to clients for use in project evaluation, site planning, and for presentations and displays in support of applications for development and planning studies.
Michael Manett, MCIP RPP Principal Planner and President
Michael S. Manett, Principal  of the firm, received his Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree from the University of Waterloo in 1974 and has forty years of professional planning experience in urban and regional planning having worked in both private and public practice in Ontario, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as over thirty-five years of practicing as a freelance photographer.  Michael is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners/Ontario Professional Planners Institute and is a Registered Professional Planner.  Michael is the immediate Past Chair of the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce, a Past President of the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce and a past  Member of the Professional Aerial Photographers Association (PAPA).  He has extensive experience in preparing planning arguments and testimony and has appeared regularly as an expert planning witness at the Ontario Municipal Board and Court.
Joshua Chitiz, Planner
Joshua Chitiz holds a Bachelors Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University and is Candidate Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners/Ontario Professional Planners Institute. Joshua joined Manett Planning in February 2012. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chitiz worked in land use development and as an independent planning consultant.

Joshua`s responsibilities include: research and analysis of land use options, preparing land use planning reports, site investigations, client relations,agency liaison, research and preparation for Ontario Municipal Board Hearings, mapping, preparing visual exhibits,the coordination, preparation and management of various development applications, including fulfilling conditions of approval.
